My Tickets for Canadians Arrived!

An advantage of living in Vancouver before the 2010 Olympics is that sports federations are bringing events to the city to test the facilities before the big event.

So, the 2008 Canadian Figure Skating Championships will be held at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver from January 16-20. Some of you may already know this, but Canadians is my favourite event of the year. I like it so much, I'm coming all the way from Malta to see it. (And to see family and friends, of course!)

I know, I know, Canadians lacks the intensity of international competition, and you don't get to see many of the best skaters in the world. What I love about the event is that it's the pinnacle for many of the athletes. For so many skaters, Canadians is their Olympics. Going to nationals is the big dream. And, in Canada, where the competition is seriously stiff, getting there is an incredible feat.
