Skate Canada Names Worlds and Four Continents Skaters
Skate Canada has named the World/Four Continents teams for 2007. The team going to Worlds in Tokyo is as expected, but there are some changes to the group going to the Four Continents Championships in Colorado Springs next month.
Most notably, Mira Leung has opted out of Four Continents, so Cynthia Phaneuf will go in her place along with Joannie Rochette and Lesley Hawker.
In ice dance, Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje from Kitchner, Ontario will skip Four Continents and will go to Junior Worlds instead as the lead-up to their Worlds debut. Lauren Senft of North Vancouver, B.C., and Winnipeg's Leif Gislason will compete in their place in Colorado Springs.
