No Judging Controversy at Skate Canada

DSC_0035.JPGThe crowd at Skate Canada didn't boo the judges once the entire weekend, which means the judging was either remarkably fair, or the new marking system is working. There were a few comments in the coffee line that Joannie Rochette was marked too generously, but overall the outcome seemed entirely reasonable.

John Baldwin of American pair team Inoue and Baldwin had this to say about their marks:

"I'm very upset. It's ridiculous. You don't give the number 4 team in the world marks like that. Those are the lowest program component scores we've ever got. They should be embarrassed."

First, I really don't think they were cheated. Their program was rocky, stiff and choreographically boring, so the program component scores were correct. Second, that remark is ungracious, especially when Inoue and Baldwin ended up winning the silver medal.

That seemed to be the only complaint. Unless, of course, you have others?
