Canada Ice Dance Theatre Starts Up Again Next Week
Canada Ice Dance Theatre (CIDT) starts its season next week at the West End Community Centre in Vancouver. Although they seem to have trouble attracting company members, skating with the company is a great way to stay involved with the sport and challenge yourself without having to admit all those doubles and triples are no longer in your repertoire.
If weekly company rehearsals aren’t your thing, you can buy on a Wednesday night freeskate at the astonishing price of $25/session.
Now, my personal favourite… if you’re an adult who wants to learn to figure skate (jump, spin, etc.) then come to the CIDT lessons I teach on Wednesday evenings. Note: you’ll need to know how to skate already to fit in. If you’re looking for a ‘learn to skate’ lesson set, check out adult lessons run by the community centre.
